Peaceful Times

I am not at the hustle and bustle of the Iowa State Fair! I started the week with work and next week that is where I will be…in the a/c.  Enjoy the fair weather! We know it could be a lot hotter! This Saturday is my day to be where Nothing Compares! I will be around for the Governor’s Charity Steer Show and I will be writing another blog post for everyone and volunteering. Have no fear!

Today with everyone out of the office and their decision to close means my drive to work turned into some gravel travel. Off to visit the cattle I went in a dress and my old cowboy boots. The day is perfect for a slow, peaceful drive! Maybe turn the radio up or play your favorite music.

August means we have reached fall calving out here and there is one calf already! I went to see the spring calves and my how they are growing! Some are having a peaceful, lazy day too! Nice shade to keep the sun off and away from the shenanigans of the rest.38829146_1220093621463687_3722299167322669056_o

They came out to see me and our not a Holstein is such a sweetheart. She surely shows the recent rain made it a bit muddy out here though. Hope the sun and today’s warmth will dry the ground enough for them.

See you tomorrow at the Iowa State Fair or at least watch for a post to come!
