An adventure starting Friday headed to Dyersville and enjoying the differences in agriculture’s scenery. I must say there are more crop fields around where I am from versus northeastern Iowa’s livestock farms.
A vast sea of harvest gold and some green across central Iowa. Some of the fields travelling east have a bit more green to them yet.

Wind turbines lined up in rows closer to where the trip started, but I did spy a few in northeastern Iowa.

The further east the more you can spot those red barns. Spotted some old wooden barns and sheds that seemed no longer in use. Hard to overlook the grain legs and small towns passing by. Who says there is nothing to see travelling across Iowa?
Reaching Delaware and travelling to Dyersville there are many farms dotted along the countryside. Plenty of ground where hay was in the process of drying. More hay in northeastern Iowa due to the amount of farms with livestock.

Saturday allowed for some more travel to New Vienna then Luxemburg. Guttenberg allowed for time to admire the Mississippi River. Seemed to be the perfect day for boating and fishing! Undeniably peaceful even hearing waves softly slap against the rock.

Next was a drive through Clayton on the way to Garnavillo. Around here you can tell some of these communities are agriculture focused.

The drive allows time to admire different practices in agriculture. I can tell you most fields around me are not like this, but this at least works for the hills.

Then back to New Vienna for some time at the Antiques shop. There I had a chance to admire an old Surge Milk Machine made of stainless steel. I lifted it and it is rather heavy, so I can only imagine what it would have been like to lift it when it was full. Thank goodness technological advancements have been made through the years and make it a whole lot easier for dairy farms to milk cows.

Back to central Iowa for the time being and hopefully some more adventures soon!
